I discovered Fabric.com when I first started quilting. They don't have a huge selection like other sites. It appears that they get volume discount on discontinued patterns and such. But their prices are great, they give you 39" yard instead of 36", and they sell a variety of fabrics, including apparel. And if you live nearby, they have a periodic warehouse sale where you can get fabric for literally $1 a yard, I am not kidding. Service has always been fast and courteous.

This quilt shop is located in the small town of Trenton, in the old Coca Cola Bottling plant. This plant was in production when I was a child. The have restored the building beautifully.
Have a very large selection of fabric, and all the little goodies that just melts a quilter's heart. Their prices are in line with all the other Florida shops. Have a small Tea Room adjacent to the shop and it is a very popular place to meet the girls for lunch and shoping. Has had visitors from every state and several foreign countries. Georgia

Comments:
This is the best fiber art store I've ever found. They are in a quaint little house in Sandy Springs, GA. Their selection of fabric is definitely not the largest but this is because they also carry yarn and the most hard to find embellishment/mixed media/surface design products. Their fabric selection is very contemporary and also full of ones for use in landscape quilts. They also don't have a huge selection of notions because there is a Hancocks right around the corner so they don't compete with them.
Their selection and manner of display of their books is very inspiring. They are shown as if they are works of art in themselves!

I recently moved to Gainesville, GA and was looking for a quilt shop *home*. When I walked in Jean's shop I knew immediatly I had found it. There was a shop hop going on and all the ladies were dressed as Wizard of Oz characters. They have an unbelievable attitude - I have never been there when I didn't leave with tears on my face from laughter. The fabric selection is incredible - she has an eye for color and has some truly unique patterns and selections. If you are on your way through the GA mountains, this is for sure worth a drive to visit...it's the kind of place you can't wait to go back to and hate to leave once you are there!

Comments:
This little shop opened up a couple of years back. When I say little, I mean little. But, despite the size, they do cram in an awful lot of fabric. They have even expanded their hand dyes and batik selections. They have everything arranged mostly by color, with the novelties off to themselves. They also have a large selection of yarn, and many classes. Their pricing is about average, and they have a limited supply of notions. But, they do sell my favorite Aurifil thread! On top of it all, the ladies are just the sweetest that I know, and they are open late on Tuesdays.

I have visited most of the quilt shops in the metro Atlanta area (and there are quite a lot), but this is by far my favorite. The selection of fabrics is great, they have a whole room filled with every notion I've ever imagined and quite a few I'd never heard of, and the women who work there are super friendly. My favorite thing about the shop would have to be the amount of animal fabrics they have. They must have 200 bolts of cat and dog fabrics. Certainly, they have more animals and novelty prints than any other shop I've been in.

This was one of the first shops I found in GA. At the time, it was quite small, and disappointing. Since the first 3 years, they have expanded to the next shop, and have quite a large selection now. It is still a long haul for me, but they have nice batiks and such. Good selection of thread too, but I didn't notice which brand. They are also open on Sundays.

Tiny stitches is a quaint shop. It isn't huge, but it is clean and orderly. There are a few tight areas for us more voluptuous quilters. They have also recently expanded into the space next door for training classes. Being 45 - 60 minute drive for me, I only go there occasionally. Their prices are pretty standard with ranges from 7-9$ a yard on average. They also have a nice selection of backing width batiks. The ladies are quite friendly there. Be sure to check out their restroom!

I have only ordered online from this shop, but have had wonderful experiences with them. The ladies are very friendly and very helpful. I talked at length with one of the ladies when she called to ask a question about my order. They have a great Bargain Bin and Hot 100 list where you can purchase greatly reduced fabrics. Who of us isn't looking for a good bargain these days? They carry a good selection......30's, Thimbleberries, Civil War repros, Moda, etc. They also have some creative unique buttons, plus threads and patterns. I think this is a great shop!

My experience with HofP has been only online, although they do have a Brick and Mortar. I have heard of bad customer service experiences in the past, but mine have always been good. The one time there was a mistake, Justin took care of it immediately, even allowing me to keep the mistakenly sent fabric.
Their site organization is splendid, allowing you to search by theme, or brand. They often have great selection of bargain priced fabrics as well. They even sell the Olfa replacement blades cheaper than you can get at 40% off at one of the chain shops. Once on their mailing list, you will get a lovely wish book about every 3 months or so. Talk about eye candy! All in all, this is my one favorite online shop and I easily shell out several hundred a year there. This shop is an old railroad depot and the decor is beautiful (although the lighting could be better). Eagle Creek has a wonderful selection of 30s reproductions at a great price. They have also recently added a large selection of batiks. They also have a lot of wool and small pieces of wool for wool applique. Although it's not very child friendly (no play area, etc), they don't panic when you walk in with a child and it is right on the railroad tracks, which my son loves.

Large selection of popular fabrics. Organized by theme (i.e., Thimbleberries, 30's, novelty, oriental, etc.) rather than color. They have LOTS of kits to choose from, and books galore. Classes are held frequently and often after 6pm on weeknights (Nevada being a 24-hour kind of state, dontcha know). One thing tho ... fabric is PRICEY. It's all top-quality quilting fabric, but Windy Moon has only JoAnn's and one other (major'ish)quilt shop in Reno to compete with, so bargains are hard to find. But I enjoy shopping there, and the folks who own the shop and the ladies who clerk it are really friendly and helpful.
One other note ... I hesitate to add it but it's a fact: it is not located in the best part of town. Be aware of your surroundings when outside of the store and do not be complacent. New Hampshire

Comments:
I've only experienced this shop via their printed and online catalogs, but I've been very pleased with my experiences. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and their catalog is something I drool over as soon as I get it out of the mailbox. They have already coordinated fabrics together which makes it easy to buy fabrics for projects. Their montly fabric medleys are themed so you can pick the one(s) that match your interests best. They have scrap bags at discount prices, and it's always fun to discover what's inside when it arrives. They sell pre-cut strips of fabric, as well as charm packs. All in all, their selection is great and their customer service is awesome.

One of the reasons my husband and I traveled from California to the Northeast was to visit Keepsake Quilting. I'd always been so impressed by their catalog and online service. The actual shop experience was very different. Our first impression when we walked in was that it's a very cold atmosphere. The employees really didn't want to be bothered with customers, and the fabric selection was nothing special. The notion selection was very limited - I've seen much better selection in much smaller shops. KQ prices are on the high side as well. The best thing about this shop is that there's a nice large restroom. I wouldn't return, even if it was convenient. I wouldn't recommend that anyone go out of the way to visit this shop. There are so many friendlier, nicer shops with a better selection of fabric.

This store just recently celebrated its 25th year of business. Although it is mainly a quilt shop, you can also find needlepunch and rug hooking supplies. There is one whole room dedicated to pottery made my local artists. They also offer quilts for sale. Although they do not offer quilting services, they can hook you up with local quilters. The employees are very knowledgable and have often helped me find just that right piece of fabric.

This is an online store only. They have a pretty good selection of fabric and the prices are just GREAT! You cannot beat the prices this store offers. Every piece of fabric that I have bought from them is good fabric also, no seconds, no inferior fabric, even though their prices are superior. The customer service is great also. They ship quickly and will call you if there is any question at all about your order. Shipping is reasonable, with you choosing your shipping method. They don't offer any notions, but if you just need fabric, you might want to check them out.

Easily my favorite shop in Columbus, and now they have a shop on Sawmill in Dublin (refer to their website)! I miss this shop whenever I go quilty shopping. Their selection is wonderful, pricing average, but great clearance pricing. The ladies are so friendly and will spend time helping you pick out fabrics if you need it. They have a vast assortment of quilty magazines and notions. I have not taken any, but they have a lot of classes as well. Now, I will admit, I find the owner to be a little snooty for my taste, but the other ladies are always great. They are organized pretty much by color, with a few sections arranged by theme. One of the great shops of Central Ohio for sure.

I have had many years experience with this shop. Under the previous ownership, I found the shop stuffy, and the staff unfriendly. However, under new ownership, the place is thriving. New paint, some reorganization, and a huge new clearance basement! The place is wonderful! The selection is vast, and organized well by both theme, and then color. I met both of the owners when I was in Ohio last and they are wonderful. Very helpful. The prices are average for regular stuff, but they also have a great clearance section.
The only downside I can tell you is parking is a bit of a pain. You have to come around to the back via an alley off of a very busy High St at North Broadway. But, I feel it is work the effort. OklahomaThere are no reviews for this state.Oregon

This shop has a large selection of fabrics, with a large variety in what they carry... a little of this, a little of that. They have a lot of knick-knack things out where small hands can reach, and though they have a play room where the kids can play, my kids didn't want to stay in it without me. Not the most kid-friendly shop I've been to. BUT!!! They are a Gammill dealer, their basement has 6 of them set up. You can buy one from them, or you can rent time on one of their machines. They also sell HandiQuilter 16 mid-arm machines and frames, a cheaper way to get longarm results. And they sell many longarm quilting supplies.

They also have a vacuum area and store across the street for knitters.
Comments:
This is a great store with a wide selection of fabric, batiks, 30's, traditional, childrens, heritage etc. you can find just about anything. They have great examples hanging on the walls and a good selection of sale fabrics in the basement level. I had a bit of trouble finding what I wanted at first but was helpped very nicely to locate the fabrics I was looking for. The book and pattern selections were also good sized. The shop sells sewing machines is a seperate area-Bernina, Janome, and Gammill are names I saw. They also have some wonderful Gammill long arm machines for rent and teach classes for both owners and renters! This shop is well worth a visit and will also check for fabric if you are looking for something. when I asked if I could email them a photo of a fabric I was looking for they said "no problem!". I will be going back to this store, it was great!

Comments:
This is so much more than a quilt shop. This store has a few thousand bolts of quilting cotton, quilting flannel, quilt backings, home decorator fabrics, fabrics for making clothing, notions, thread, quilting stencils, patterns (quilt and clothing), batting, yarn, embellishments for formal wear... Basically anything you need for any kind of sewing is here. Once a month they have 40% off all fabric, and online they have 30% off all purchases. I marked them low on kid-friendly simply because they don't have any toy area or any way to occupy kids... though they have never been rude to me or my kids. This is an awesome place, and I will actually plan my projects around their big sales!

Comments:
This is a very nice shop. They have a color wall that is to die for! A nice selection of batiks and Jinny Beyer palette, seasonal fabrics, juvenile, landscape, and some oritentals. They do not carry any 1930's reproduction fabrics though, at least at the time of this review. The staff are nice and knowledgable. They have sewing machines for sale here (though no service department), and a large room for classes.

Comments:
This shop is where you want to go for 1930's fabrics and Thimbleberries. They have classes taught by very knowledgable teachers, and their prices are very fair. Their color wall is full of richly colored fabrics, and they always feature some new fabric line that begs you to bring some home. They have some toys out for the kids, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Comments:
A great shop! There is a huge selection of fabric and a wide array of styles, so you should be able to find whatever you like the best. The pricing is about like other quilt shops. The ladies are super friendly and helpful too. The shop is spacious and well lit and you do not feel crowded while shopping. They carry a lot of threads, patterns, kits, notions and books. They also have a play area for the kids. They also offer lots and lots of classes at reasonable prices. There are lots of FQ's because they cut FQ's from every fabric in the shop. This is a great shop!

Comments:
This shop has thousands of bolts of fabric, with a very good clearance section. You could spend a long time in the shop, just browsing. They have a lot of display quilts which are fun to look at. There are also lots of quilting magazines to buy and notions. I did not find the ladies to be very friendly at all though. They were helpful, but not friendly if that makes any sense. A great shop though!
